 What are they?

The carton forming machines, or carton formers, are automatic or semi-automatic devices used to prepare and form cardboard boxes (corrugated or rigid cardboard) that will later be used for product packaging. These machines are essential in production and packaging lines, as they automate the carton forming process, making the preparation of boxes faster, more efficient, and safer before loading products inside them.

Operation of carton forming machines:

The process of forming a carton is relatively simple and can be divided into several key stages:

Carton feeding: The machines receive flat cardboard sheets (or corrugated cardboard sheets) from a feeding system.

Folding and forming: Once the cardboard has been fed into the machine, it folds the cardboard along predetermined lines (usually on the bottom and side edges) to create the shape of a box. In this phase, the machine also creates any folds to facilitate the subsequent closure of the box.

Gluing or bottom closure: In some machines, the bottom of the box is automatically glued (with hot or cold glue), while in others, the box is simply closed by interlocking without the use of adhesive.

Output of the formed box: Once the carton has been formed, the box is transported to a subsequent stage of the production process, such as product loading or cartoning.

 What do we offer?

1. Semiautomatic machines

Semiautomatic machines require manual intervention to feed the cardboard sheets, but once the cardboard is loaded, the machine takes care of forming the box. These models are simpler and more economical, ideal for medium-low volume productions or small companies.

2. Automatic machines

Automatic machines, on the other hand, are designed to operate completely autonomously, without human intervention. They automatically load the cardboard, fold it, glue it, and move it to the next stage of the production line. They are ideal for high-speed and high-capacity production lines.

3. Interlocking machines

Some carton forming machines are designed to create boxes without the use of glue, but instead use a folding and interlocking system. This type of machine is useful when it is not necessary to seal the bottom with adhesives, for example when using pre-die-cut cartons that easily interlock.

4. Gluing machines

Carton forming machines with gluing use glue systems (hot glue or cold glue) to seal the box. Gluing is particularly useful for ensuring a secure and stable closure of the box bottom, preventing it from opening during transport or storage.

5. High-performance machines (for large volumes)

These machines are designed to operate at very high speeds and handle large production volumes. They are ideal for high-capacity industrial environments, such as those used in the food industry or consumer goods distribution. They can form, glue, and prepare cartons in seconds.
